Ph.D. in Computer Vision and Machine Learning
The Computer Vision Group is hiring a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Vision and Machine Learning (m/f/d). The full-time position (40 hours per week) is initially limited to three years, with a potential extension by another three years after a positive evaluation. Part-time work is possible.
Your responsibilities:

  • Competitive research and contributions to the research areas of the group, especially to explainable AI and / or knowledge integration into machine learning

  • Integration and application of research results into the application areas of the group

  • Share your solutions with the research community through a variety of outlets

  • Support teaching activities in the course program of the Computer Vision Group at all levels

  • Work on your scientific qualification, e.g., your doctorate

Required qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field

  • Experience or at least a background in computer vision and machine learning

  • C / C++ and / or Python skills and a passion for writing high-quality code

  • Experience in programming larger projects

  • Willingness to expand your expertise to new and project-relevant areas

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Desire to work in a dynamic and team-oriented environment

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with machine learning/deep learning frameworks and libraries

  • Background in explainable AI, hybrid modeling, knowledge integration into machine learning
